We ground insurance quotes directly in the Insurance Bureau of Canada's 2025 'How Cars Measure Up' actuarial database. This evaluates real-world claim costs across 4 distinct coverage categories: Accident Benefits (AB), Collision, Comprehensive (theft/vandalism), and Direct Compensation Property Damage (DCPD). Ratings of 100 represent the national benchmark average.

Fuel economy and electric energy consumption are sourced from NRCan and EPA test schedules (L/100km for internal combustion and Le/100km for electric/PHEVs). We calculate monthly operational costs based on standard Canadian commuter mileage (20,000 km/year) using current Ontario regular fuel rates ($1.65/L) and residential EV time-of-use electricity rates ($0.13/kWh).

Reliability scores are computed dynamically against official government safety recall campaigns and manufacturer consumer defect complaints from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Vehicles with lower recall severity and cleaner manufacturing records receive higher composite reliability scores.

MSRP benchmarks and market valuations are synchronized with active Canadian dealer listing inventories, national MSRP filings, and historical depreciation curves to give consumers accurate market pricing without hidden dealership markups.
